Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 1, 2026

Eve is an AI accountability coach, operated by George Tharian ("we", "us"). This policy explains what we collect, why, who else sees it, how long we keep it, and how you get rid of it. It is written to be read, not to be survived.

The short version

1. What we collect

Account information. When you sign in with Apple, we receive an anonymous account identifier from Apple and, if you choose to share it, your email address. Apple may give you a private relay address instead of your real one — that works fine and we never see the underlying address. We store the identifier, the email if provided, your first name if you give one, your pronouns if you give them, and your time zone (sent by your device so Eve's timing is correct where you actually are).

What you tell Eve. This is the substance of the product, and we want to be exact about it:

Voice. If you use voice input, your device records audio and sends it to us. We forward it for transcription and keep the resulting text as part of your conversation. We do not store the audio.

Subscription information. If you subscribe, Apple processes the payment. We never see your card, bank details, or billing address. We receive only your subscription status.

Technical information. A device token so we can send you notifications, and server logs recording that requests happened — timestamps, endpoints, error conditions. Server logs do not contain the content of your conversations.

What we do not collect. No advertising identifiers. No location. No contacts, calendar, photos, or health app data. No browsing activity, in this app or anywhere else. No biometric identifiers — we do not create voiceprints and cannot recognise you by voice.

2. Why we collect it

Everything above exists to make Eve work: to reply to you, to remember you between conversations, to reach you at the right time in your time zone, to keep your commitments straight, and to bill you if you subscribe. We also use aggregate, non-identifying counts — how many messages were sent, what our costs were — to keep the service running and affordable.

We do not use your information to build advertising profiles, to train AI models, or for any purpose unrelated to coaching you.

3. Who else sees it

We use a small number of service providers. Each is contractually restricted to processing data on our behalf.

Who What they receive Why Their retention
Anthropic Your conversation content and the coaching context Eve needs to reply Eve's replies are generated by Anthropic's Claude models Anthropic does not train on this data. Deleted from their systems within 30 days.
OpenAI Voice recordings only, when you use voice input Speech-to-text transcription OpenAI does not train on API data. Their transcription endpoint is documented as zero-retention.
Apple Sign-in identity; device token and notification content when we send you a message; payment details you give them directly Authentication, push notifications, subscription billing Per Apple's own privacy policy.
Railway Hosts our servers, so your stored data sits on their infrastructure Hosting Held on our behalf; deleted when you delete.
RevenueCat Your account identifier and subscription status. No conversation content, ever. Subscription management Held on our behalf.
PostHog (EU) How the app is used — which screens you visit and buttons you tap, and outcomes like "a commitment was kept". Never your conversations, never what you write, never your goals' content. Product analytics, so we can see where the app confuses or loses people and fix it Held on our behalf, on EU servers. Never used for advertising.

That is the complete list. No advertisers, no data brokers, no marketing platforms — and the one analytics processor above receives behavioral events only, never content.

We will disclose information if legally compelled — a valid subpoena, court order, or equivalent. Where we are permitted to tell you, we will. If the business is ever sold or transferred, your information may transfer with it, and this policy continues to govern it unless you are told otherwise and given a choice.

Notice about legal process and AI providers: our providers' retention commitments are subject to their own legal obligations. A court order directed at them could require retention beyond what their policies describe. This is outside our control and we would rather say so than imply a guarantee we cannot make.

4. How long we keep it

5. Your choices and controls

See what Eve remembers. Settings → What Eve remembers lists every fact stored about you. You can delete any individual item, and Eve forgets it.

Correct anything. Tell Eve in conversation. She updates what she knows. You can also delete a wrong memory outright.

Delete your account. Settings → Delete account. This removes your entire record — conversations, goals, commitments, memories, Wheel scores, daily logs, device tokens — from our systems, and revokes our access to your Apple sign-in. It is immediate and irreversible; we do not keep a shadow copy and there is no waiting period during which we try to change your mind.

Deleting your account does not cancel your subscription. Apple controls billing and we cannot cancel on your behalf. Cancel in your Apple ID subscription settings, or you will continue to be charged. We say this twice, here and in the app, because getting it wrong costs you money.

Turn off notifications. iOS Settings, any time. Eve's proactive messages stop; the app keeps working.

Request a copy. Email support@geteve.coach and we will send you your data. Allow up to 45 days, though it is usually much faster.

If we say no. We will explain why in writing, and you can reply to contest it. If you are still unsatisfied you can complain to your state Attorney General.

6. Do Not Track

We do not track you across other websites or apps, so there is nothing for a Do Not Track signal to switch off. We do not respond to DNT signals because we have no cross-site tracking to disable. No other party collects information about your activity across sites or apps through Eve.

7. Security

Your data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored on access-controlled infrastructure. Authentication uses Apple's Sign in with Apple; we never handle a password. Each user's data is stored separately from every other user's.

We will not claim our security is perfect, because nobody's is. If a breach affects your information, we will notify you without unreasonable delay and no later than 60 days after discovering it, along with regulators where required.

8. Children

Eve is for adults and is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If we learn that a user is under 13, we delete their account and all associated data immediately and stop all contact. If you believe a child has created an account, email support@geteve.coach and we will remove it.

9. What Eve is, and is not

Eve is an AI, not a person. She will tell you so if you ask.

Eve is an accountability coach. She is not a therapist, counsellor, doctor, or financial adviser, and she does not diagnose, treat, or provide therapy for any condition. She is not a substitute for professional care. If something you raise calls for a professional, she will say so and point you toward real help.

If you are in crisis, Eve is not the right tool. In the US, call or text 988 for the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, or text HOME to 741741. In an emergency, call 911.

10. Where we operate

Eve is operated from the United States and your information is stored and processed there. If you use Eve from elsewhere, you are sending your information to the US, where privacy law differs from your own.

11. Changes

If we make a material change, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect and update the effective date above. Continuing to use Eve after that means you accept the revised policy. Changes are never retroactive to data already deleted.

12. Contact

support@geteve.coach — privacy questions, data requests, complaints, or anything in this policy that reads as evasive. We would rather fix the wording than have you guess.
